As a new visitor, what can I expect on a Sunday morning?

Bibles on laps

Our worship service is at 10:30 am on Sunday Morning.

Sunday morning is such an important time in our life together as a church. It is the one time each week when we gather to hear from God through the teaching of His word and respond to Him in worship.

We love it when new people join us! We hope you will come worship with us this Sunday—we want you to feel welcome. Here is what you can expect:

Teaching

The centerpiece of GracePoint Church is solid teaching from the Bible. We believe that the Bible is the completely true and inerrant Word of God.  We also believe God gave it to us for the express purpose of shaping our thinking and our behavior. Therefore, we always dedicate time to hearing God’s word when we get together on Sundays. Sunday School for children, youth, and adults is from 9:15-10:00 a.m.

Worship and Preaching

Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.  After a time of singing, prayer, and reading of scripture, a pastor explains what it means, and helps us identify how to apply God’s truth to our lives.  God wants us to learn from Him and worship Him. At GracePoint Church we make every effort to ensure that our services are focused on God and worshiping Him.  The songs we sing are chosen to express our love for God and His love for us. We draw from a variety of contemporary and traditional songs that are God-centered, theologically sound, and musically enjoyable.  During the first Sunday morning service of each month, we participate in the Lord’s Supper.

Prayer

At several points during the worship service someone will lead the congregation in prayer. These are times for all of us to speak to God by lifting our thoughts and hearts to Him.

Giving

Each Sunday morning, the members of our church have an opportunity to give of their money as an act of worship to God. If you are a guest or are new to GracePoint Church, please just be our guest! Our weekly offering is for those who consider GracePoint Church their church home.  Contributions go toward helping to fund outreach, events, and daily expenses of the church. We do not pass the plate. We do have a box near the back of the church or you may give online to participate.

What should I wear?

We are a relaxed, comfortable, accepting group of friends and family. You will find people in business casual, in dresses, in pants, in jeans and t-shirts, etc. Come as you are!  We trust you will feel welcome.

What about children?

Jesus loves children. We do too. We have care and classes for children from birth through 5th Grade during Sunday services.  Infants and children up to age three are lovingly cared for in the Nursery.  Preschoolers and children through grade 5 are dismissed from church right before the sermon begins.  In children’s church, they sing, read a Bible story, have a snack, and do a craft or game.  Children return to the worship service by the closing song.

Everyone who works with children at GracePoint Church is screened through a written application and a background check.

You can find more information about our children’s ministry.

Watch a service.
